October 29, 2003 A
rare pic ...
STeF
has sent along another older pic of Annabeth (below). Even though the pic
looks very Race to Space-ish, the pic was actually taken back in 1994 at an event and/or
premiere (according to the caption). This is another one I had not
seen prior. (My thanks to STeF
for sharing another great pic!)
||
"When I was twelve, I wrote to [actress Lilian Gish] and said that I wanted to become an actress, and [I asked]
what was her advice ... just sort of by proxy of us having the same last name even though we're not related.
She [actually] did not encourage me, because she said there's too much talent and not enough work.
Stay where people love you ... the film industry is a gypsy lifestyle. [And what she said] is absolutely true.
But, if it appeals to you and it's in your blood and you get into it, it's a great life." (Annabeth,
The Chronicle,
The Independent Daily at Duke University, November 12, 1999)

October 25, 2003 An
early VCR alert, and the last day for wedding
well-wishes/greetings ...
One of Annabeth's made-for-television films, Sealed With A Kiss (a.k.a. First
Comes Love) is scheduled to air on the Lifetime Movie Network
November 21st and 22nd. I know many of you like to set your VCRs well in
advance, so be sure to mark the date. (This alert primarily applies to
U.S. viewers, and/or those who are able to receive LMN.)
On a personal note, I really
enjoyed this film. It's a rare opportunity to see Annabeth in a
romantic comedy type role. The story is a good one, and her chemistry
with co-star John Stamos is excellent. I'd highly recommend it to
those who have yet to see it.
|| Today is the last day to submit your wedding well-wishes and
greetings. If you have yet to do so, please see the instructions
below. :) (You are welcome to continue to make a donation to
the 2004 Buy For Bethie
campaign as another gesture of congratulations.)

October 21, 2003 October
Q&A's, new clips/VCR reminder, and continuing wedding
well-wishes/greetings ...
Fresh off her honeymoon,
Annabeth has sent along her answers for the questions submitted for
the month of October. Enjoy!
----------
Name: Debbie
Question: What is your all time favorite song, and what does this song
mean to you?
Annabeth's Answer:
As usual, I cannot choose just one favorite song ... typical Piscean
trait, but there isn’t just one of anything in any category that I can
exclusively pick to represent my favorite. Whether it's Music,
Literature, Film, Food, etc. I just can't make an exclusive choice.
However, there are songs that particularly move me: "Bridge Over
Troubled Water" by Simon & Garfunkel and "Fragile" by Sting are two
that always affect me deeply. They both work to hook me into my
emotional life. Anything by Sarah McLachlan always expresses
something for me -- her lyrics are poetry. I like songs that make me
yearn for something ... or songs with such a strong bass beat that it
makes me want to dance my ass off!!!
----------
Name: Sarah
Question: As a child, what was your favorite thing to do (and why)?
Annabeth's Answer:
Another something favorite? This one might actually be easier.
I loved reading books. I was always reading as a kid. I especially
loved both the Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden series -- the female
sleuths! In between rollerskating and playing Barbies, my childhood
friends and I would then act out the mysteries we'd just read about,
finding imaginary clues and solving crimes around the garages and
basements in our neighborhood. Maybe that was when the acting bug set
in ...
----------
||
Grilka has done a couple more clips from When He's Not A
Stranger: "Medicine
& Football"; "Not
Finished"; "Stand
Up For Me." (You will need WinZip
to open; Windows
Media Player to view).
And don't forget this film is airing tomorrow (October 22nd) on the
USA Network. Be sure to check your local listings to be sure of the
time in your area. (I believe it is airing late at night/early in the
morning, so it actually might be aired in some areas beginning October
21st. Check your listings.)
||
There is still time to send along your well-wishes to Annabeth and
Wade. :)

October 17, 2003 Well-wishes
for Annabeth ...
With news of Annabeth's wedding, I've had requests as to where to send well wishes and/or cards.
I would first and foremost like to encourage those wanting to congratulate Annabeth
and Wade on the nuptials to make a donation
to the 2004 Buy For Bethie
campaign. The campaign is on its way to meeting the goal for 2004, but we still do
need your support to make it a complete success.

October 16, 2003 A
message from Annabeth ... :)
So ... just as I was
explaining yesterday that things were a bit quiet (LOL!), I received a message today from Annabeth to let everyone
know that she is
one happily married lady:
-----
"Wade and I are on our honeymoon - yes, that’s right. We’re married. Our wedding was last Saturday,
October 11th at the Sea Ranch Lodge in Northern California. It was the most beautiful day of my life.
Everything was perfect .... We are blissfully happy."
-----
I know I speak on behalf
of everyone in wishing Annabeth and Wade all the very best as they begin their
new life together. Heartfelt congratulations to both!
||
Have a great day! :)

October 15, 2003 A
new picture, and a clip ... :)
Our good friend Julie
found a small article from the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier
that ran back in July which discussed Annabeth's joining The West
Wing. The article also featured a picture of Annabeth I had not seen
prior (below).
(Thank you so much,
Julie! :) )
||
James sent along a small
clip that appeared on EXTRA!,
which featured various members of The West Wing cast and their thoughts on
the upcoming season (among other things). Annabeth is featured at the end
of the clip. :) View the
clip here. (You will need
WinZip to open; RealPlayer to view). My thanks
to James - a great find! :)
|| Just a note of thanks to those who wrote in wondering about me. It
seems some of you were concerned that I hadn't done an update in over a
week, and thus, might have taken ill, etc. I am fine. Things are just a
bit quiet at the moment, so I don't have much to report. Hopefully this
update will tide you over for a bit. :) || Have a good
one!

October 8, 2003 Some
new clips, and some new linking buttons ... :)
Grilka has done some
clips from Sealed With A Kiss (a.k.a. First Comes Love): "Email";
"Longfellow
House"; "No
Ocean." (You will need WinZip
to open and Windows
Media Player to view). My thanks to Grilka for another set of
great clips! :)
||
I've been experimenting with
creating new linking buttons once again. :) I've posted the new set in the
Links/Credits section for those
interested.
|| Have a great day! :)

October 6, 2003 A
wonderful caricature ... :)
I recently came across
this very cute cartoon caricature of Annabeth as Special Agent
Monica Reyes. The cartoonist's name is Mike Burrell, and he has done
caricatures of other X-Files cast members, including Gillian
Anderson and David Duchovny (as Scully and Mulder, respectively). If you'd like to learn more about
Mike's caricatures, and/or if you're interested in purchasing some of
his work, visit his
shop at eBay or send him an e-mail at icartoon@softhome.net.
(** IMPORTANT NOTE: Although this
caricature is now in my personal collection, and thus, posted here, the drawing remains the intellectual and creative property of
Mike Burrell. By posting the picture here, I do not want to infringe
upon his ability to continue to create and sell his work as an artist.
Therefore, I ask that fellow Webmasters DO NOT re-post and/or archive this image on other
sites.)
|| Have a great day! :)

October 3, 2003 Some
"thank yous" for the TYA Campaign ... :)
Deslea (Deslea's
eXegesis) - who, as many of you know, managed the entire Thank
You, Annabeth (TYA) campaign - received the following thank you
letters from the Children's Hospital of New Mexico (CHNM) and the
Unusual Suspects Theatre Company for the TYA contributions given to those
organizations:
-----
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication to the
"Thank You Annabeth" project that raised money for UNM Children's Hospital.
Your support is truly appreciated by us, but even more importantly, to those
children who will benefit from your donations through the campaign.
I wish you much success in your future endeavours and much good health in
the coming year. Thank you again.
Sincere regards,
Denise Corday
Development Coordinator
UNM Children's Hospital
-----
Thank you so much for sending the
X-Files
script autographed by Annabeth
Gish. It was always such a pleasure working on
The X-Files, and it is very
rewarding when people such as yourself recognize the work of The Unusual
Suspects.
We will be able to include your script in our next fundraising auction and
the proceeds will help us continue to serve at-risk teens in Los Angeles.
Please know what a contribution your donation has made in the lives of these
kids and how encouraged we are that you share in our vision to give them an
alternative way to express themselves and a creative outlet for their
emotions.
You are making a difference!
Kindest regards,
Laura Leigh Hughes
Founder/Executive Director
-----
(For those curious, Laura Leigh Hughes played Deputy Director Kersh's
assistant on The X-Files.)
||
Thanks to everyone once again for all of your generous support throughout the entire TYA campaign.
It could not have been a success without you!
||
Have a great day! :)

October 2, 2003 WW
screen caps, and some misc. news ... :)
Grilka has done screen
caps from Annabeth's second appearance on The West
Wing. Her character wasn't featured as prominently in "The
Dogs of War" episode
as in the season premiere, so there are only a handful of screen caps
and no clips. View the caps here.
(My thanks to Grilka for the screen caps!)
Annabeth will appear in
at least one more episode. Be sure to watch this space to find out
when. :)
||
One of Annabeth's earlier films, When He's Not A
Stranger, is scheduled to air on the USA Network on October 22. If
some of you have not had the chance to see this film, be sure to set
your VCRs. It's quite good. The subject matter might be a little
uncomfortable for some (as it deals with date rape), but it really is
an excellent film, and Annabeth gives a stellar performance. :)
Also, The Last Supper
will be airing on the FX Network on October 21.
A couple of great
opportunities to catch two great films. :) (My thanks to Amanda for
the heads-up!)
||
For those of you interested in Annabeth-centric music videos, Becky
(Bethie Believers / Buy
for Bethie) is hosting a sampling of videos - both X-Files and non-X-Files related. Visit Bethie
Believers to have a look. :)
