»AG Blog / 01.June.06«
Hi folks!
Courtney and I have decided to add a new little twist to the Web site. Beginning today, June 1, I am
actually going to attempt writing a blog of sorts. I say "of sorts" because some blogs tend to be a bit too
self-indulgent and self-aggrandizing - I promise I won't get carried away with mindless personal blather that
will have no relevance to any of us. Just an occasional entry into the internet journal on the ATA
web pages to fill you in on what's going on with work and perhaps a personal update here and there.
To begin ... Anticipation for the premiere of Brotherhood is building (maybe just in me?!)
and I must say I am eager to see it finally be born out over the cable waves! After having seen most of the
episodes in their final form I am sincerely and intensely proud of it. Everyone's work is so strong,
so colorful and very raw. It's not a pretty show, in terms of stories with pretty little packages,
but it has a lot of heart, guts and character, which will hopefully be engaging and compelling for an
audience out there. The arc of my character throughout the 11 episodes is quite a provocative
journey and due to that fact, it is certainly some of the best material I have ever worked on.
It's not airing until July 9th, but that's only a month from now, so gear it up! Get ready!!!
This summer I am working in a theatrical production of King Lear here in LA. I am playing the role of Regan
and am very much looking forward to the experience. It will be good to helm a role from start to finish, on
my own two feet, and speaking the magnificent words of the old bard himself. It has always been a dream of
mine to do Shakespeare, and while I've done countless scenes from his many plays in high school, college and
LA acting classes, I have never yet done an entire production professionally. I am excited and, of course,
terrified! But those are two very good motivating factors for an artist of any realm. "Leap and the net
will appear!" Right?!
I hope all of you are having a good summer so far. I'll keep in touch as we go. Although I will try very
hard to post something every month, just know I might not always be exactly prompt!
Be well,
Annabeth
