The case of another
missing photo ... :)
It seems I never posted
the below promo pic from Steel. I've had it for a while, and
I'm glad I was reminded of it again or
I would have forgotten. LOL! (I do confess Steel, for whatever reason,
is one of my guiltiest Annabeth favourites. I have not a clue why I
get a kick out of this film, but I do ... :) )

"And I thought the hospital was funky. Who lived
here before you - the Sanfords?" - Sparks (Annabeth), Steel

Everyone have a great Friday and a nice weekend! :)

"I have a special affinity for Texas .... I've
found Texas people to be so warm and genuine. It's nicer than L.A. in
that sense." (Annabeth, Houston Chronicle, June 16, 2001)

And, if you haven't checked out Annabeth's message,
see below! Have a great day! :)

March 25, 2003 -- SECOND UPDATE
A message from Annabeth ...
:)
---------
03.20.03
Just wanted to write and
thank you for the collection of wishes and greetings I received for my
birthday. What spirit + personality came through in each + every note!
Please pass on my thanks to the members of ATA + SA. Their support +
interest is so very kind!
Best wishes to all,
Annabeth

You can click the thumbnail picture below to see the actual card. :)

A big thanks again to everyone who participated in the
Birthday Book! This could not have been done without you! :)
And, a special thanks once again to Annabeth for her
very thoughtful and personal response. It is truly a pleasure and
privilege to support her in all her endeavors. :)

March 25, 2003
Couple of items today
...
Sabrina has made screen
caps from one of Annabeth's oldest films, A Hero in the
Family (1986), which you can view here.
(This was a Disney
movie-of-the-week type film and is quite rare). Thank you,
Sabrina! :)
||
Grilka has scanned most of the Season 9 X-Files trading cards
from Inkworks that feature Annabeth/Monica Reyes. You can view them on the Season 9
Promo/Misc. page in the Photo Gallery. Thank you, Grilka! :)

Everyone have a great day! :)

March 22, 2003
Don't believe I can top
yesterday's news, but there are some additional details on the release
of Pursuit of Happiness on DVD ... :)
The DVD will be shown in
letterbox format, and include a behind-the-scenes featurette, deleted scenes,
theatrical trailers, cast biographies, interactive menus, scene selection, and optional Spanish subtitles.
Also, the film will make its theatrical debut in Los Angeles on Friday, May 9, 2003. DVD/VHS release
date is still scheduled for May 20 and remains a Region 1/NTSC release. It is available for pre-order at
amazon.com.
(This is all courtesy of the MTI Home Video Press Release at digitallyobsessed.com. Thanks to Julie
for the heads-up!)

March 21, 2003 -- SECOND UPDATE Some
wonderful news: A forthcoming message of thanks from
Annabeth ...
To my surprise, I received the most heartfelt and thoughtful message direct from Annabeth
yesterday (20 March) saying that she has received the Book of Birthday
Greetings. She was very touched by all of the wonderful letters and
well-wishes that all of you sent along:
"I can't tell
you how meaningful it was, and just really, really so sweet."
What's more, she has let
me know that she is in the process of writing a Thank You note, which she will send along to me to post here at the site. :)
Just want to thank everyone so very much again for
sending along your letters and greetings - they were a poignant
collection of inspiration, support and encouragement! :)
And, on behalf of
everyone, I would like
to thank Annabeth once more for being such an inspiration to us all. It is
incredibly rare for someone in her line of work to make such personal efforts to thank those who support her. She is truly an extraordinary,
wonderfully kind and thoughtful person - as real and as down-to-earth
as they come.
Watch this space for her
message ... :)
||
"This is just a
call to say thank you very much ..." (A message from Annabeth, Thursday, March 20, 2003)

March 21, 2003 First,
a serious note ... then something fun ... :)
It would be very insensitive not to acknowledge the war with Iraq has
begun. While I remain unnerved and undecided on my own view of this
entire conflict (yet admit I knew this was always going to be the
result), I do hope the lives lost in this war are kept to a minimum -
on all sides. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are going to
be most immediately - and perhaps tragically - affected. And, I hope
the war's aftermath for the world - politically, socially, economically -
will somehow unite it rather than continue to divide it. May
the next chapter in post-September 11th history be better than the one
we all seem to currently be in ...
||
And so ... onto lighter
things ... :)
The rockin' Sabrina has
kindly offered up some of the very first screen caps she ever
completed, which were caps of Annabeth's interview clip for The Way
She Moves. Check them out here.
(I must say, Sabrina, you mastered caps from the very first
try! Thank you so much!)
||
"My biggest thing is
that I wanted to do it and not look like I'd just learned how to do it
... I really wanted to do the dance itself justice because watching some
of the professional salsa dancers, and just people who just dance salsa
all the time, I'm just constantly in awe." (Annabeth,
VH-1.com interview,
The Way She Moves, August 2001)
||
Everyone be safe, have a good Friday and a nice
weekend. :)

March 20, 2003 Just
an interesting note ... :)
I'm not sure if some of
you know, but a couple of years ago, Annabeth was part of LA
Theatre Works' production of The Perfectionist by Joyce Carol Oates.
(LA Theatre Works produces live, audio theatre of classic and
contemporary plays, featuring popular and celebrated actors, for
broadcast on National Public Radio, Voice of America and the BBC).
The
Perfectionist is available for purchase on audio cassette if you
are interested. I have not actually heard it, but I have thoroughly
enjoyed Annabeth's narration of Summer
Sisters (the audio version of Judy Blume's book). So, I'm
sure listening to her perform in an audio play will be equally entertaining. :)
You can visit LA
Theatre Works site for more details on the play.
||
"Sometimes people will come up to me
and ask, 'You didn't really do it with Billy Moses in Mystic Pizza, did
you?' And that's something that still haunts me – the distinction I always have
to make between the me on-screen and the me in real life." (Annabeth,
Mademoiselle, April 1990)
||
Have a great day! :)

March 19, 2003 Another
card scan ... :)
Grilka has sent in a
scan (see below) of an S8/S9 X-Files trading card (this was the case loader
for the S8 set, which previews the S9 set - due to be released today.)
The card features Annabeth, Gillian Anderson and Lucy Lawless. I
always liked this promo pic, so cool to know it's also a card. Thanks,
Grilka! :)
||
"[The Buskaid concert] was one of the most moving
events I've been to in a long time. For me, Gillian set an example of the best way
a celebrity can use their fame for a true, good cause." (Annabeth,
Fox.com Chat, April 2001)
||
Have a great day! :)
|
|
March 18, 2003 Some
new screen caps ... :)
Thanks to the
ever-awesome MarieEve (of X-Files: The Search Continues
and The Robert Patrick Forum),
I have some new
screen captures for The Last Supper, which are here.
I know this ranks as a
favourite film for many, so enjoy! (And thank you so much again,
MarieEve)! :)
||
"I think it's time
for dessert." - Paulie (Annabeth), The
Last Supper
||
Have a great day! :)

|
March 17, 2003 Happy
St. Patrick's Day all ... :)
Don't have much to
report today ... just a reminder that for those interested, The
X-Files Season 9 trading card set from Inkworks will be released
Wednesday (the 19th). Visit the Inkworks
site for more info!
||
"What was so much fun about Steel was that I really
got to tap into a little comic flair. I would like to explore that more, but my tendency as an actor is [to be]
drawn to drama. I am the drama queen in my family." (Annabeth,
TV Guide, May 1997)
||
Have a great day! :)
|
|
March 14, 2003 Interesting
poster ...
I came across this X-Files
Season 8/9 promo poster that was donated to the Country School in
North Hollywood, California. It was signed by the entire cast and
auctioned on eBay to raise funds for the schools' community related
projects. (If you look closely, you can just make out Annabeth's
signature on her pic.)
||
Everyone have a great Friday and a nice weekend! :)
|
|
March 13, 2003 Happy
Birthday, Annabeth! 32-years-young today! Best wishes for a wonderful
day ... :)
||
" ... Rebecca and
Lise [have] taught me how to loosen up and have a little fun in
life." (Annabeth, Self Magazine, April 2002)
||
Celebrate! :)

|
March 12, 2003 Articles,
articles ... :)
Came across one more
article from the The
Cedar Rapids Gazette (from 1993), which is here.
And, I've also transcribed the 2002 Yearbook article from The
X-Files Official Magazine called "Gish and Tell." Read
it here.
(This one happens to have one of the most hysterical lines I think
I've read in any of Annabeth's print interviews ... it's quoted below
... you should read the whole article to get the quote in context.) :)
||
"Well, no, here's the thing. I've decided that I'm not granola, that
I'm herbal. If granola is crunchy, herbal is kind of almost crunchy, but not
quite." (Annabeth, The X-Files Official Magazine, 2002 Yearbook)
||
Have a great day! :)
|
|
March 11, 2003 A
couple of more articles, and a revised release date for Season 9 X-Files
trading cards ... :)
Two articles from the The
Cedar Rapids Gazette that are from 1989. First one is here;
second one is here.
||
"I've strived to
maintain some normalcy in my life, some groundedness." (Annabeth, The
Cedar Rapids Gazette, August 1989)
||
Also, Grilka has learned that the release date for The
X-Files Season 9 trading card set from Inkworks has been bumped up
a week to March 19th. Visit the Inkworks
site for more info!
||
Have a great day! :)

|
March 8, 2003 Some
great DVD/Video news ... :)
Lucinda has let me know
that one of Annabeth's very rare and hard-to-find television movies
from 1999,
No Higher Love (a.k.a. God's New Plan), will be released on DVD (Region 1; US/Canada)
and video (NTSC) on May 6, 2003. It is available for pre-order at
amazon.com
(search for "No Higher Love" instead of "Annabeth Gish"). Thank you so much,
Lucinda! This is great news!
And ... you can now also
pre-order Pursuit of Happiness from amazon.com
(search for "Pursuit of Happiness"). Scheduled
release date is May 20, 2003. This again is a Region
1 US/Canada DVD and NTSC video release (note the price for the video is quite
high, so those of you lucky enough to have purchased directly from The
Martindale Group saved quite a bit of money.) :)
||
"The music of life
was in this house." - Robbie (Annabeth),
Sealed With A Kiss
||
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! :)
|
|
March 7, 2003 New screen
caps, and the discovery of older ones ... :)
The wonderful MarieEve
(of X-Files: The Search Continues
and
The Robert Patrick Forum) has
kindly sent along screen caps for Buying the Cow, which you can view
here.
||
"In acting, you take a lot of risks and chances. But, when you
step back from it, you think what you did was good. If I can learn
something and share it, I hope to convey that to the audience. You
have to reach out to people." (Annabeth, Iowa Woman, September
1988)
||
Also, it seems there
were some missing links on the Photo Gallery Index page for Sealed With
A Kiss and Scarlett. (I could have sworn they were up. LOL! :)
) So, in case you hadn't seen them
prior, screen caps from Sealed With a Kiss are here,
and promo pics from Scarlett are here.
(Both originally are courtesy of Khrisitne at Simply Annabeth).
||
Have a great weekend! :)

March 6, 2003 B-Day
Book is on its way ...
A big, big thank you to
all of you who sent in well-wishes and greetings for the 2nd Annual
Book of Birthday Greetings for Annabeth. :) We doubled the amount we had last
year! :) There were also some brilliant pieces of artwork. The book has been sent
off in care of Annabeth's representatives, and I'm sure she will enjoy
it immensely. Thank you again to all who participated!
I've taken pics of the
book (below), sampling both the artwork and letters. :)
||
||
Thanks again to all! :)

March 5, 2003 Yet
another new (actually, old) article, and the final day to send in birthday greetings
...
I've transcribed a 1994
article from the Des Moines Sunday Register (TV & Cable section)
that featured Annabeth and her role as Anne Hampton in the television
miniseries Scarlett. Read it here.
||
"Here
in California, there's everything from earthquakes to mudslides, but
when I think of Iowa, I think of a peaceful place to live." (Annabeth,
Des Moines Sunday Register TV & Cable section, November 13-19, 1994)

March 4, 2003 Tribute
to TYA, last call for b-day greetings and TV schedule update ...
Thought I would post a
picture today of the Thank You, Annabeth (TYA) ad from last year, which ran
in a Special Edition of The Hollywood Reporter that commemorated the
end of
The X-Files. I know
some of you might have come into the Annabeth fandom after the ad (and after
the bulk of the TYA campaign) had been completed. With the recent news
from Deslea that the TYA charity auction will resume in March/April, I
thought it might be a timely reminder of the wonderful campaign, and
all of the hard work of the TYA committee. :)
||
"It
shouldn't be thankyouannabeth.com, it should be
thankyoufansofannabeth.com." (Annabeth, Thank You, Annabeth Chat, May 17,

submit a b-day greeting. Deadline is TOMORROW, Wednesday, March 5th.

||
Annabeth's TV schedule has been updated over at TV-Now.com.
Seems to be a bit of a light month for AV: Annabeth Viewings. :)
||
Have a great day! :)

March 3, 2003 A
bit of news, and working on the b-day book ...
Annabeth was scheduled
to attend the premiere of
Bringing Down the House last night
(Sunday, March 2) at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. I've checked
the photo wires this morning, but I have not found any pics of her
from the premiere. I will keep checking, and if I find any, I will
surely post them. (And, if any of you happen to come across any,
please let me
know!) :)
||
"The
thing that seems so inspiring to me about the
women I've heard from, is
that they all seem so self-possessed and creative. It leaves me so
inspired ... " (Annabeth, Thank You, Annabeth Chat, May 17,
2002)
||
I am going to work on putting together the b-day book over these next couple of days.
There is still time for you to send in your greeting. But, the deadline is this
coming Wednesday, March 5th.
To participate:
1) Please forward your greeting via e-mail to: allthingsannabeth@yahoo.com.
2) In the subject line, please write: "Birthday
Greetings for Annabeth."
3) Deadline for submissions: Wednesday, March 5th
||
Have a great Monday! :)

"I
like my awkward qualities, like my klutziness. I feel better in my bones
than I ever have." (Annabeth, People Magazine, August 2001)
||
And ... just
a little site maintenance ... I've archived most of the February
updates. You can view the News Archives
section if you are looking for more or missed any of the February news.
:)
||
Have a great rest of the weekend! :)
