June 27, 2003 Some
beautiful collage work ... :)
Kristi (of Absolute
Annabeth & No Frickin'
Way fame) has a new artwork site called Teso's
Art. It's home to all of her collages. There are some amazing
pieces on the site - be sure to check it out!
Kristi has kindly
allowed me to post one of her latest Annabeth-centric
pieces. (Thanks so much, Kristi! This is a great collage of
Annabeth! Keep up the great work!)

June 25, 2003 Short
correspondence with Annabeth on the Q&As, and a VCR
reminder ... :)
Just to follow up on my
note last week regarding the new "Questions for Annabeth"
part of the site, I was able to exchange correspondence with her this
week regarding how she'd like to proceed. She has very graciously
offered to answer two questions per month (schedule permitting). The two questions will be
selected at random for forwarding to her, and both the question(s) and
answer(s) will be posted here at the site once completed. (I will post
them as a News update, as well as archive them).
So ... keep
those questions coming! :) As of right now, there isn't a limit on
how many questions you can submit. I know several of you have
mentioned you have more than one that you would like to ask, so feel free
to send them in! :)
And, I know I speak on
behalf of everyone in thanking Annabeth for generously lending her
time to take part in the Q&A's. :)

This Friday (June 27th), Lifetime
Television is
scheduled to re-air No Higher Love (a.k.a God's New Plan).
I know there was a bit of a false start earlier this month with the
airing of this film. But, according to lifetimetv.com,
the movie is indeed scheduled to air at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT Friday on the regular
Lifetime Television cable channel (NOT the Lifetime Movie Network, as was previously re-scheduled). I would still
double-check your local listings to make sure of the time.
(And be sure to have a
box of Kleenex handy - this one can be a tear-jerker. :) )

June 24, 2003 Some
never-before-seen shots on the set of True Women ... :)
The amazing Julie has
sent in a couple of shots of Annabeth on set while filming True
Women (see below).
The shots appear courtesy of the Roze Hanks Pye/Fat
Cat Media, who was
the photographer on set during the filming. (Note I've had to crop the shot of Annabeth taking horseback riding
lessons so as to reduce the blurriness of the photo. It is still a good
one, though. :) )
Many, many thanks to Julie for
tracking these down, and to Roze for allowing the pictures to be
posted! Thank you to you both! :)

"I love the classics and I love historical
dramas, but a secret love of mine are Westerns ... High Noon and all those old
classics. And I've done a few myself, between Wyatt Earp and True Women. I think it's
a time period that seems to suit me." (Annabeth, FilmMonthly.com, May
2003)

S Factor Studio opens its doors with free intro class
By MELISSA GOLDBERG
HOLLYWOOD -- Pole-dancing workouts climbed to center stage for a cocktail party-cum-open house
at Hollywood's S Factor Studio June 14. Thesp Sheila Kelley, the founder of the studio and top
instructor, described the S Factor dancing regimen as "an athletic, genuine, female workout."
Kelley's S Factor soiree celebrated in the company of men and women, however, with husband
Richard Schiff of "The West Wing" providing his full support. Schiff did express nostalgia
about one routine that ended last month, when his wife relocated her 2-year-old studio from
their home office: reading scripts "right around the time class started and ended."
S Factor member Annabeth Gish enjoyed the demos along with Dule Hill and Chris Isaak. Sela Ward
and former "Wonder Years" thesp Danica McKellar, meanwhile, picked up the free intro class,
designated females only.
(Date in print: Mon., Jun. 23, 2003)

I know many of you have been inspired by Annabeth's love of dance,
so for those interested in learning more about the S Factor Studio, check out sfactor.com.

June 19, 2003 A
new interview (really new) ... :)
I came across a new
interview with Annabeth that was done last month for FilmMonthly.com,
which you can read here.
This, to my knowledge, is the first interview Annabeth has done since
the end of The X-Files. It is, as usual, a great read. :) It has some
great insights on how she sees herself at this point in her career,
and where she would like to continue to go with it.

"As soon as I turned 32 this year I began thinking about how,
once your life settles down a bit, and you get married, you start needing a more
coherent structure to your life. My love and understanding of this art is coming to a
point where I need to use it and not just 'know' it." (Annabeth,
FilmMonthly.com, May 2003).

June 18, 2003 Sort
of an off-topic update ... :)
I know a good number of
you are Michelle Branch fans, so I thought I'd post a note that her
new album, Hotel Paper, is going to be released on June 24th.
The new single, "Are You Happy Now" is currently out.
Michelle does have an
Annabeth connection, as many of you know, in that her song "You
Set Me Free" from her first album, The Spirit Room, is
featured at the end of The Way She Moves. (I personally
loved this particular song, and thus, have been listening to Michelle's
music ever since hearing it in TWSM.)
In case anyone would
like to pre-order/order the CD from amazon.com, follow this Buy For Bethie
link.

"I'm pretty
alternative an eclectic." (Annabeth, on the kind of music she
likes, The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, December 2001).

Just want to thank
everyone who has submitted questions for Annabeth. There are some
excellent ones in this first batch!
Just a note that you don't
have to submit all your questions at once. As this is scheduled to be an
ongoing thing, you can continue to submit them over time - or as you
think of them. :)

Have a great day all! :)

June 17, 2003 The
beginning of Q&A's with Annabeth, and some new clips ... :)
As you might have
noticed, I've added a new item in the News section on the navigation
menu called "Questions for Annabeth."
When I spoke with
Annabeth last month, I had asked her if she had any interest in doing
a Question/Answer type of thing (similar to Gillian Anderson's
Question of the Month over at GAWS).
Annabeth thought it a great idea, and thus, I've decided to start the
process of collecting questions for the first batch to submit to her. Depending on how many questions I receive, I will
review them and forward them to her. She will select one (possibly
two) to answer, and I will post both the question and answer here at
the site.
Please note I still must
finalize with Annabeth what time frame will work best for her so as to
determine how frequently she will answer the questions (thus, I'm not
quite calling it "Question of the Month"). It will depend on her
schedule, availability so on and so forth. But, I'd like to get started to see how
this goes ... so, feel free to fill out the form and submit your
question. :)

Grilka has done it again
(awesome gal). We have a couple of clips from Buying
the Cow: Empowered
and David
& Nicole. (You'll need WinZip
to open; RealPlayer 9 to
view; minor language warning on the Empowered clip. :) )

June 16, 2003 A
new look (and link) at Buy For Bethie .... :)
Becky has completed the
redesign of Buy For Bethie, complete with the new official

Becky - site looks just great! And a wonderful logo design, Jaci!
Congratulations!)

June 14, 2003 Happy
Father's Day weekend to all the dads out there!
Sorry not to have been
able to report much this week. Doesn't help that we've been swapping
office space at work, so I've been half-online, half-offline
throughout the week. LOL!
But there are some
coming attractions ... :)
Grilka is working on a
couple of clips from Buying the Cow, which should be up next
week. (Thank you, Grilka!)
And, Vanessa has very
kindly offered to make a couple of audio clips of Annabeth's narration
of the Judy Blume book, "Summer Sisters." (I personally love
both the book and the audio recording. I highly recommend it. :) )
Thank you, Vanessa! We'll look forward to the clips!

Have a great weekend all! :)

June 12, 2003 Some
audio clips from The Perfectionist .... :)
The lovely Julie has
made a couple of audio clips from The Perfectionist, the
live audio play produced by LA Theatre Works to which Annabeth
starred in a couple of years ago. The play is available
for purchase on audio cassette. Visit the LA
Theatre Works site for more info!
There are four clips,
and I've put them all in one WinZip
file. The clips are .mov audio
files, so depending on your system settings, you will need either Quicktime,
RealPlayer or Windows
Media Player to play. (And thank you so much, Julie!)

June 10, 2003 New
air date for No Higher Love .... :)
Seems as though Lifetime
Television has swapped around the airing of No Higher Love. It
is now scheduled to air June 27 and July 13 (according to lifetimetv.com);
it will re-air on Lifetime Movie Network (not the regular Lifetime
channel). So ... reset your VCRs. :) (Thanks to Grilka for the
heads-up!)
Don't have much else to
report ... I've been ill for a few days, so apologies for sparse updates.
:)

of actors as types. Sexy, quirky or wholesome. I was pegged as
wholesome and wasn't able to find roles that expressed what I thought
was my versatility." (Annabeth, Movieline, June 1994).

June 5, 2003 New
The Way She Moves screen caps, and a tribute to Deslea ... :)
I actually didn't plan
this to coincide with this week's re-airing of The Way She Moves
on VH-1 (really ... swear I didn't ... :) ), but thanks to Deslea,
I have been able to swap out the screen caps with a new batch. They
are much higher quality and feature expanded shots of some of the
scenes. View the new set here.

Speaking of the
fantastic Deslea ... :)
She has converted her site, Annabeth Anomalous, into
a zine called All
Annabeth. For those of you who aren't familiar with Deslea's Xines,
or a zine, they are sites intended to be one-off special editions and/or
long-standing tributes to actors, characters, stories/mythology relating to The
X-Files. The sites tend to be more static and have bits of new
additions posted as needed.
As some of you may know,
Deslea has a very large Web presence with all of her sites, and the
conversion of Annabeth Anomalous (among others) to a zine format will
help free her up to direct her energies into some of her other creative
projects. Her main site, eXegesis,
will remain actively updated with all her art, fiction and other
interesting tidbits. And, be sure to check out her Xines
regularly to see what's got her interest at the moment. :)
On a personal note, Deslea
has been a tremendous support to me and to the creation of ATA. She is
one talented lady, and I cannot thank her enough for everything she has
done, none the least of which includes management of the entire Thank
You, Annabeth campaign. You rock, my friend! :)

June 4, 2003 New
site navigation, No Higher Love clips, VCR reminder, and a great quote about
Annabeth ... :)
I've changed the navigation menu over on
the left. It is now a much more expanded version of the scrolling
menu, and it is broken out into the various sections/sub-sections of
the site. I'm hoping you'll find it just as easy to use. :) (While I
liked the scrolling menu, it had its limitations as to how much I
could add to it, so ... a change was in the wind. :) ) If any of you
encounter errors or problems (broken links/pages, etc.) please drop
me a note. (I've tested everything as best I could, but ya' never
know ... :) ...)
I've also removed the
splash page and made what was formally the Main page the new Home
page.

Grilka has finished some
wonderful clips from No Higher Love, which have all been added to the
Multimedia Gallery/Movies. Clips are: Breathing;
Walk
Through; Letters,
Pt. 1; New
Year's Eve; Letters,
Pt. 2. (You will need WinZip to open;
RealPlayer 9 to view.)

Just a reminder that
VH-1 is scheduled to air The Way She Moves tomorrow
(Thursday, June 5th). Check your local listings and be sure to set
your VCRs!

And finally, I watched the
entire Pursuit of Happiness DVD this past weekend - all bonus
features, as well as watching the film with commentary. I'd highly
recommend the DVD to all if you haven't purchased it already. The bonus
features alone are worth the purchase. :)
During a portion of the
commentary (which was being narrated by Associate Producer Jerry Jacobs
and Director John Putch), the following set of dialogue came up between
the two of them, discussing how much they enjoyed working with Annabeth.
I've transcribed it below:
----
"Have we talked
about it at all about what a gem Annabeth was to work with?" (Jacobs)
"No, let's talk
about her." (Putch)
"O.K., I just found
her - besides being talented and lovely to look at - just absolutely a
delight to work with ...." (Jacobs)
"She was so pleasant
and professional and serious about her work. And, there's no pretense to
her at all. None. She just comes in, and it's all about the job at hand,
and getting the story out and told correctly. [T]here's no ego
involved." (Putch)
---
Indeed, great quotes about
a great lady ... :)

Have a great day!

June 3, 2003 Happy
June All! :) I don't have much to
report at the moment ...
Grilka is working on clips from No Higher
Love.
The results of the Buy
For Bethie logo design contest are almost complete. Becky should
be posting the winning design shortly. Thank you to those who sent in
a design and to those of you who voted! :)

On a site admin
note, I am working on a navigational overhaul of this site. Am hopeful
to have it re-done by the end of this week. :)

Have a great day! :)
