Life on Liberty
Street Press Kit Q&A ...
:) STeF
very kindly passed along a portion of the Life on Liberty Street
Press Kit, which contained an interview/Q&A with Annabeth. Read it here
(originally courtesy of The Hallmark
Channel; great thanks to
STeF for sending it along!)
||
"I'm just looking for good material that has stories that are moving and characters that are complicated, like real
life." (Annabeth, Life on Liberty Street Press Kit Q&A, May 2004)

June Q&As ...
:) Annabeth
has sent along answers to the questions that were submitted for the
month of June. You'll notice this batch is X-Files/Monica Reyes
specific. With the recent release of Season 9 on DVD, and the
subsequent press accompanying it, as well as the ongoing discussions
concerning a possible second film, she took the opportunity to express
her thoughts here at the site. Enjoy! :)
----------
Name: Billie
Question: With all the talk about a second X-Files movie, would you be interested in playing Monica Reyes again?
What would you hope to happen if you did?
Annabeth's Answer: I loved playing Monica Reyes for the brief time that I did, and of course I would love to meet up
with her again - alas, I don’t think it’s in the cards ... As far as I know, the Doggett/Reyes arc is not going to be
included in the film. As I've said elsewhere, I understand the success of the franchise has at its core Mulder and
Scully. It's a duo that is mythic now ... I think the film will be a welcome return of the both of them ...
-----
Name: Chris
Question: When playing Agent Reyes on The X-Files, did you base the character off anyone?
Annabeth's Answer: In one of my first conversations with Chris Carter, when discussing his vision of Monica Reyes,
he mentioned an ex-CNN news anchor named Lynn Russell. To him she was an example of a gutsy, independent woman who
was simultaneously tough and alluring. And a bit of a rebel. I think it was really those qualities that guided me
in my imagining of Monica - more than a specific person to model her after ... I'm not so sure I succeeded in finding
all or any of those qualities - I fumble around in my own life practicing them, wondering how in the hell to be
even one at a time. We can all dream, right?!

A new interview ...
:) BBC
Online Cult News did a recent interview with Annabeth to coincide with the
release of Season 9 of The X-Files on DVD in the UK. I've transcribed
the article here.
(Thanks very much to Amanda for passing along the article.) || "[Gillian
Anderson] was such an old hand maneuvering through the rigorous hours
... I learned a lot by watching her ...." (Annabeth, BBC Online
Cult News, June 15, 2004)

A Q&A admin note ...
:) I've
received some inquiries as to the status of "Questions for
Annabeth" (as it has been a couple of months since the last set
of Q&As were posted). This
feature is still very much a part of this site, and although every
effort is made to post the Q&As on a monthly basis, it does
ultimately depend on Annabeth's schedule. As many of you know (and
have read), she enjoys and takes great care in answering the questions
submitted, so please do continue to send them along. :) I've
submitted a set to her for June, so I shall hopefully have those to
post by the end of the month. Thanks
again to everyone for their thoughts!

InStyle article ...
:) As mentioned a few months back, the
annual special Weddings issue of InStyle
Magazine was released this week, and it featured a write-up on
Annabeth and Wade's wedding from last fall. I'd highly recommend
purchasing the magazine as it's an excellent article, with some very
original and creative ideas for anyone who might be planning a wedding
of their own. :) I've transcribed the article here; pics are below. (Pictures and article are courtesy of InStyle.)

Wyatt Earp on DVD,
and admin note ...
:) AN75
passed along a note that Wyatt Earp has been released on Region
1 DVD as
a 2-disc Special Edition. If
you're interested in purchasing the DVD, feel free to follow this
link (or visit the DVD store on this site) to have your purchase
contribute to the ongoing efforts of Buy for Bethie (BFB). (Thanks for
the info, AN75!) (Just a note for those
who may not
know, Annabeth's role in Wyatt Earp is on the shorter side - limited to the first hour. But, I know some of you
would like to collect all of her films on DVD, so here's another to add to the collection.
You might also be a history
buff as well. :) )
||Site
admin: I've archived most of the May updates, so if you missed any, be
sure to check the archive.
