January 30, 2004 "Last
call" for the 2004 BFB/FFC Campaign, and some misc. notes ... :)
If you would still like
to contribute to the 2004
BFB/Futures for Children Campaign, you have until next Friday,
February 6th to have your contribution credited to the 2004
campaign. You can continue to either make a donation directly to the
campaign,
or make amazon.com purchases through any one of the BFB Affiliate
Stores.
Donations will still be accepted after next Friday, but they
will go toward the campaign for 2005. So, it's "last
call" for 2004! :) Thanks
again to everyone for their contributions and support! :)

January 29, 2004 A
message from Annabeth ... :)
Received the following
note from Annabeth today to advise of a new project on which she has
been working, as well as to send along a thank you to everyone for
their heartfelt answers to the "What Inspires You?" question
from last month:
-----
"I've been working on another movie for the Hallmark Channel. This one is called
Liberty Street and co-stars
Ethan Embry and Ed Begley Jr. It’s a sweet story ... with sweet heartfelt moments. I play a nurse with an attitude
and a chip on her shoulder ....
I want to thank everyone for the
'inspiring' answers to the inspiration question -
what a beautiful glimpse into the minds and hearts of the ATA community. I feel privileged to have a connection with
you all through this site that is tended to with such care by the lovely
GP. Everyone’s responses seemed to come
from a place of true connection and soulfulness. I am appreciative of each and every thought. May we all keep this
connection to our dreams, to what moves us to love and feel joy in ever increasing ways. We all need to inspire each
other!"
-----
Also, Annabeth is still
working on the January Q&As, so be sure to keep an eye out for
those as well. :)

Have a great day! :)

January 23, 2004 Different
press kit goodies, and some excellent BFB news ... :)
With great thanks to the
wonderful Grilka, I have transcribed some items from the original 1999 Different
Press Kit: Press
Release; Synopsis;
Annabeth's
Biography. I've also scanned the promo pics that accompanied the
kit (below).
I know this is a film
many of you have not seen, and it unfortunately has not re-aired
recently on Lifetime Television. So, I'm hopeful you will enjoy reading a bit more about the film's storyline and
characters. :)

"[Y]ou don't want them to feel like they're a
specimen. But most people are willing to share their lives, how they get
through." (Annabeth, on being asked if it felt awkward, or seemed an invasion of
privacy, for her to spend time with Special Olympics groups as well as
observe a mother and son while preparing for Different,
Venice Magazine, May 1999)

Becky (Buy for Bethie /
Bethie Believers) is reporting that the 2004
BFB/Futures for Children Campaign has reached it's $420
target ahead of schedule! Wonderful thanks to all of you who have been
contributing to this cause over the past several months - it could not
succeed without your generous support! :)
We now have an excellent opportunity to
generate additional monies for Futures for
Children. There
is still time to make amazon.com purchases through any one of the BFB Affiliate
Stores, or to donate directly to the campaign.
Thank you again to
everyone for helping to make this campaign a success! :)

January 22, 2004 -- Revised Follmer/Reyes collage contest
voting, and a special note of thought and prayer ...
Kristi (Absolute
Annabeth / No Frickin' Way /
Teso's Art)
has opened up voting for her collage contest on her
You Know I'm On Your Side site
(which supports the relationship between X-Files characters Brad Follmer and Monica
Reyes). Be sure to head on over and vote for the best
collage. Voting ends January 31, 2004. :)

On a somewhat sadder note, I would like to extend deepest sympathies to one of the long-time supporters of this site,
Donna (a.k.a. MGR / Life With My
Girl, Reyes), whose mother passed away last week after a difficult
battle with cancer. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family during this difficult time.

January 20, 2004 A
couple of new (retro) pics ... :)
I came across a couple
of pics (below) of Annabeth at the premiere of Beautiful Girls
back in January 1996. This is another set I had not seen prior. Enjoy! (Pictures are
courtesy of Dave Allocca / Time Life Pictures / Getty Images).

"The writing. There's a monologue delivered by Rosie O' Donnell about
how women on the covers of magazines are airbrushed, their images perfected and phony. She tells them to appreciate
what they have. I just said: 'That's so true. That's something I want to save.'" (Annabeth, on what attracted her to do
the film Beautiful Girls, People Magazine, February 19, 1996)

January 13, 2004 Great
inspirations, and a new piece of fan artwork ... :)
I would just like to
thank everyone who took the time to respond to Annabeth's question
from the December 2003 Q&As, "What inspires you?" There
are some very moving and wonderful tales of inspiration, and I'm sure
Annabeth will enjoy reading each one. Thanks again to all who
participated. :)

The very talented DSpy
(a.k.a. frigginway) has sent along another beautiful Annabeth-centric collage; Pursuit
of Happiness is the theme. My thanks to Denise for sharing her
art and allowing it to be posted here at the site. Great work once
again, DSpy! :)

Have a great day! :)

January 9, 2004 Just
a reminder ... :)
Monday (January 12th) is the last day to submit your
answers to Annabeth's question from the December Q&As ("What
inspires you?"). E-mail your responses to me,
and place in the subject line of your e-mail: "Answer for Annabeth."
**IMPORTANT NOTE: Please
try to keep your responses somewhat brief (e.g., a paragraph or so).
While I certainly do not want to
put a limit on what to write, please be advised that personal letters/requests to Annabeth are to be sent c/o her agency,
International Creative Management (ICM). As always, submissions will be reviewed
prior to being forwarded.

"[Working on Pursuit
of Happiness] was just a very charming experience. Which is the
nice thing about doing independent films .... Everybody is there for
the right reasons. Nobody is there to get a big paycheck and throw
attitudes around. It's all about the work." (Annabeth,
FilmMonthly.com, May 2003)

Have a great day! :)

January 7, 2004 Upcoming
West Wing re-runs, and an interesting Annabeth mention ... :)
NBC will be re-airing
the first two episodes of WW's Season 5 in which Annabeth guest starred
("7A WF 83429" and "The Dogs of War") on January
21st and 28th respectively. In case any of you might have missed the
original premiere(s), be sure to reset your VCRs. Or, re-tune in just
for fun. :)

Also, anyfrigginway (AFW) passed along an interesting Annabeth
mention.
It seems as though this
site (which I hadn't seen prior) has Annabeth listed as one of their
"Cool Ladies of
Cinema." Bear in mind the site is unofficial, and it does seem to be
duplicating much of what is already professionally and officially done by IMDB.com.
But, it is definitely worth noting - given Annabeth is named alongside some of
today's top, A-List leading ladies. :)
(Thanks, AFW!)

Have a great day! :)

January 5, 2004 Happy
New Year ... :)
Just a short note today
to say I'm back from my vacation. I hope everyone had a good, safe
holiday. A
couple of administrative things:
1) I've done a bit of
site maintenance - archiving the December 2003 updates as well as
updating the TV Schedule (over in the right hand column). Seems as
though January will be another good month to catch Annabeth in a
variety of her work. :)
2) I'm going to set a
deadline of next Monday (January 12th) as the last day to submit your
answers to Annabeth's question from the December Q&As ("What
inspires you?").
Thanks to all who have
already sent along their thoughts - some wonderful tales of
inspiration! :)

Have a great day! :)
