Last week for greetings,
artwork and recipes for Annabeth's birthday ... We
are approaching the last week to submit a greeting, piece of artwork,
and/or recipe for this year's birthday collection. The
final deadline is March 6, 2005. Don't
wait until the last minute! :)
----------
To submit a birthday greeting (non-artwork and non-recipe) for Annabeth:
1) Fill out the Greetings Form (*NOTE: This form will open in a new window. If you have
any sort of Pop-Up Blocker installed, you will not see the new window.
Some of you may be able to hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard BEFORE clicking the link
in order to momentarily disable your Pop-Up blocker and view the form. This may or may not work for everyone. Consult your
system administrator for additional information.)
2) Deadline for Submissions: March 6, 2005
----------
To submit a piece of artwork, please keep in mind the following:
1) The artwork will need to be printed out out here on my end, so please try
to keep the colors a bit classic/simple so it will print out well on paper (as opposed to
only being viewed in an electronic form).
2) Also, if you do artwork, make sure it is sized large enough to be printed out, but not too large
(i.e., keep the file under 1 MB in size). Somewhere in the 400 x 500 pixel range (roughly 5 x 7 inches) is a
good size. Artwork file formats need to be:
IBM/PC/RGB Color Format
(No Macintosh/CMYK)
.jpg (.jpeg), or
.tif (.tiff), or
.pdf (PDF/Adobe Acrobat)
.doc (Microsoft Word)
Artwork ONLY is to be forwarded (with the subject line of
the e-mail as "Birthday Artwork for Annabeth") to:
allthingsannabeth@yahoo.com
If you have a Web site, and would prefer to upload your artwork to your site for
download, please send the
link to your artwork (also with the subject line of the e-mail as
"Birthday Artwork for Annabeth) to: allthingsannabeth@yahoo.com
Written greetings sent to this e-mail address will be deleted (unless
it is part of/incorporated into the artwork). You must complete the
Greetings Form
if you wish to only send a written greeting with no artwork.
3) Deadline for Art Submissions: March 6, 2005
----------
To submit a favorite recipe, please keep in mind the following:
1) The recipe submission MUST include the following: the name of recipe; all of the ingredients necessary to cook/prepare the item;
the appropriate measurement(s) of the ingredient(s) to cook/prepare the item; and,
a description/set of instructions on how to
cook/prepare the item, as well as how to serve the item.
2) Optional is to include your name and/or state/country from where the recipe originates.
3) IMPORTANT NOTE: Please keep in mind Annabeth is going to be familiar with and/or
use to
using U.S. measuring units with respect to cooking recipes (e.g., 1 cup, 2 teaspoons, bake at 350
degrees Fahrenheit, etc.).
So, for all of the International/overseas submissions, please be sure to be very clear in your
ingredient list, measurements and instructions for cooking / preparing
/ serving the
item as Annabeth may have to convert your
ingredients, measurements and baking instructions to the U.S. equivalent.
4) Example of a Recipe Submission:
Name: Katrina's Chili Dip
Origin: United States/Southern California
Ingredients:
1 large carton/tub/package of cream cheese
2 cans of Stagg Chili Classic (no beans)
1 bag of shredded cheese (or, you can buy a block of cheese and shred
it on a cheese shredder)
1 bag of Frito Lays chips or Tortilla chips
Preparation/Baking/Serving Instructions:
1) In a rectangular or square baking glass dish, spread a layer of cream cheese on the
bottom. Use all of the cream cheese.
2) Spread both cans of chili over the cream cheese.
3) Spread a layer of shredded cheese over the chili.
4) Cover the dish with
plastic wrap, or a paper towel. Microwave on the "high"
setting for approximately five minutes, or bake in the oven
for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
5) Serve hot with Frito Lays chips or Tortilla chips.
Submit your recipe ONLY (with the subject line of the e-mail
as "Recipe for Annabeth") to:
allthingsannabeth@hotmail.com
Again, written birthday greetings sent to this e-mail address will be deleted.
Only artwork submissions and recipe submissions will be received at
this e-mail address. You must complete the
Greetings Form
if you wish to only send a written greeting with no artwork and/or no
recipe.
6) Deadline for Recipe Submissions: March 6, 2005

Birthday book questions
and a change of e-mail for recipe / artwork submissions ... I've
received a few inquiries as to whether you can submit a greeting, a
piece of artwork and a recipe. The answer is: Yes. You can submit one
of each; you do not have to choose between the three options.
In addition, the e-mail
address for submission of artwork and recipes has changed. Artwork
is now to be sent to:
allthingsannabeth@yahoo.com
Recipes are now to be sent to:
allthingsannabeth@hotmail.com
Please note that if you
have submitted either a recipe or a piece of artwork since February
11th, you will need to resend it to the new address(es). Sorry for the
inconvenience, but there have been some unexpected issues that may have perhaps corrupted
e-mails sent last week. Thus, I want to make sure none are lost and
everyone has the chance to send along their submissions.

February Q&As, a
new article, and continuing the collection of birthday greetings ...
:) Annabeth
has sent along her answers to the questions that were submitted for the month of February.
Enjoy!
----------
Name: Jenne
Question: Out of all your films in your career so far which has been the hardest to prepare for and why?
Annabeth's Answer: On a physical level, the salsa movie I did for VH-1 (The Way She Moves)
was the most labor intensive - just to learn the dance numbers and the style of the dance. I love that
kind of sweaty, hard work that requires time and loads of preparation - it's the most rewarding.
I'd like to do more of that kind of physically demanding work! True Women also required preparation
with riding, props, costumes, weapons and historical research. Really, each role has its own kind of
mental and emotional preparation - just to get in the head space of another woman with another mind,
memories and experiences ... Every role is different.
-----
Name: Denise
Question: What does a typical day entail in the life of Annabeth Gish?
Annabeth's Answer: A typical day when I'm not working is an early walk/hike with Lola, coffee or
tea with my husband while we read the paper, yoga maybe followed by lunch with a girlfriend. I try to
do something every day that requires creative focus or study - I always feel like I have to be learning something
new or learning more about acting, film, writing, business, the environment, etc ... I don't know if
it's a drive
that comes from feelings of inadequacy or ambition ... Sometimes it's hard for me to relax ... so I have to spend
time every day cultivating that, too. I try to meditate either when I wake up or before I go to sleep.
Wade and I love to go to movies, so if we plan evenings out it's usually built around dinner and a movie with
friends. That's pretty typical ... If I'm working then everything is scheduled around work -preparation, learning
lines, etc ...
----------

And, Annabeth also sent along an article that ran in this past
weekend's Des Moines Register.
It's a nice read, with a great summary of all of Annabeth's upcoming
projects. Read it here.

Donna (a.k.a. MyGirlReyes / Life
With My Girl, Reyes) found an article in Lancaster
Online with director Greg Lombardo discussing
Knots. There is a small Annabeth mention. Check it out here
(prior to being able to read the article, you will be prompted to
answer a couple of questions; it's free and takes only a second or
two, then takes you directly to the article).
Thanks to Donna for sending along the heads-up! :)

And just a reminder that Sex, Love & Lies (a.k.a. Knots)
is scheduled to re-air on Lifetime
February 12th. So, if you didn't get a chance to see the premiere, be
sure to tune in this weekend! Check your local listings to be sure of

4th Annual Book of
Birthday Greetings, and a one-of-a-kind cookbook ... :)
As many of you know, Annabeth will be celebrating her 34th birthday next month.
In addition to a donation being made to UNICEF in support of tsunami relief efforts
(which is being coordinated through Buy for
Bethie), the tradition continues in compiling and sending along the ATA Book of Birthday Greetings.
And, in addition to this year's Book of Birthday Greetings, there will
also be a one-of-a-kind cookbook for Annabeth, which will include
favorite recipes from all of her fans from all over the world.
So, if you would like to send along your best wishes and birthday greetings to Annabeth once again this
year, as well as send along your favorite recipe for inclusion in the
one-of-a-kind cookbook, instructions are listed below. (Special
thanks to Grilka for the idea to create the cookbook this year -
here's hoping it will be a great success!)

[E]very year for my birthday I get this marvelous

Misc. notes ... :) Screencaps/clips:
Working on getting screen caps/clips from the Lifetime
Television premiere of Sex, Love & Lies (a.k.a. Knots).
Remember that this will re-air on February 12th and February 17th in
case you were unable to see the premiere on January 31st.

Clarification: IMDb has erroneously updated Annabeth's
TV/Filmography to say that she appeared on "St. Elsewhere"
between 1985-1987. This is not true. Annabeth has never appeared on
"St.
Elsewhere." I've written to IMDb to ask them to remove the entry from
Annabeth's TV/Filmogrpahy so as to avoid additional confusion.
(Thanks very much to the members of the ATA Discussion Group for
calling attention to this error).

Kristi (You Know I'm On Your Side /
Teso X) has done another
fantastic Annabeth-centric collage, which she has kindly given
permission to post here at the site. (Great work once again, Kristi!)
(**NOTE: Fellow Webmasters MUST get permission directly from
Kristi before re-posting/archiving any of her collages).
